Face it, saving money is just as hard as earning it. Everyone nowadays are turning over a new leaf, diligently saving up money via the Ipon Challenge currently known in social media, especially in tiktok.
So when one woman from Nueva Ecija claims she’s finished her Ipon Challenge, we can’t help but share the news to inspire and motivate others in this new trend as well.
It was in January 2, 2021 that Cathlyn de Leon Mariano finally opened her piggy bank and she successfully hit her target of saving a six figure amount. Her total savings was Php. 106,155!
In her post, she shared how she was able to achieve the said amount, “Two consecutive years pa pang po ako nagiipon. na-inspire po ako nung nabasa ko ang mga books ni Chinkee Tan, nainggit po ako in a positive way sa mga may success ipon journey sa mga ipon group na naka-join ako.”
She apparently did her best to save 10% of her salary and had multiple income streams as she said in her post, “Kaya kahit hindi po buo ang sweldo dahil sa loan, pinilit ko pong mag-ipon from 10% salary, certain portion po ng incentives at pinuhunan ko po ‘yung dati kong ipon sa e-loading, online selling, selling ng preloved clothes, at printing services po sa bahay.”
Cathlyn shares that she had made a chart to track her savings, “Gumawa po ako ng chart na ipon shade. Wala po specific kada pay day po salary minus savings equals expenses na po ako. Naghuhulog na po ako ng P1,500 sa alkansya. Next payroll pag may tira hinuhulog ko po.”
After achieving her goal, she plans to use the money to put up into a business for a sustainable income stream. She also plans to sell Ipon Challenge wallets to help those who wants to try her method of saving up money. Saving money can really go a long way and could change one’s financial status just like Cathlyn who worked hard to save up and put up a business which made an impact not only for herself but also for her family.
