Cagayan de Oro Representative of Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Vincy Vacalares, said on Friday, October 16, that she had tested positive for COVID-19.

In her Instagram post, Vacalares said that the results of her COVID-19 test results is positive, released on October 14, which meant that she would be withdrawing candidacy for Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
Currently, she is admitted in St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila, but assures her fans that she is okay.

Before Vacalares, another Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate, Isabela Galeria from Sorsogon, also tested positive of COVID-19 and withdrew from the competition last October 15.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 finals night will be aired on GMA on October 25 in Baguio.
