Venue for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be in Baguio


Much awaited beauty pageant in the country, Miss Universe Philippines 2020, will be held in Baguio Country Club.

The organization announced on wednesday, October 14, that the event will be held in Baguio. The delegates and their party have already undergone swab testing in Manila as a safety precaution, before proceeding to Baguio.

Preliminary Interview and the Grand Finals will both be held in Baguio Country Club and will be available for streaming worldwide.

On October 21, the Preliminary Interview of the participants will be streaming and on October 23, viewers can witness the colorful national costumes, swimsuit and evening gown competitions.

As for the Grand Finals, it will be scheduled on October 25. On the same date, the event can be watched on GMA-7.

It can also be watched on for the first time. It will have no commercial breaks so viewers can also witness the backstage of the event. Viewers should subscribe to the Ring Light Series on the said website to be able to start streaming.

The national competition will be featuring 51 candidates showing diverse Filipina beauty to compete for the crown. The creative and events director, Jonas Gafud, hinted for a surprised on the coronation night. He shared how the team dedicated their heart and soul for this event and are hoping the people will see it. The competition features national and cultural appreciation for the country but Gafud hints that there will be an insightful take to Filipino heritage to watch out for.

Miss Universe Philippines’ National Director is none other than 2011 Shamsey Supsup-Lee. Amid the pandemic, the event’s checklist not only contains Binibining Pilipinas Charity Inc. (BPCI) standard procedure but will also uphold safety measures for the candidates, audience and everyone involved in the event.

There were slight speculations and worry earlier this year if the event will happen and now after announcing a venue and schedule for the event, all is well. The event was supposed to happen in May but due to the pandemic – COVID-19, it is important that safety of everyone involved should be prioritized. It was then scheduled in June, and then moved this October.
